この子を残して
国際交流基金理事長の小倉和夫氏のコラムで紹介されてた本。長崎で原爆に遭い、二人の子供を残して死んで行かなければならない医学者の永井隆博士が病床で書き綴った手記だそうだ。この本も読んでみたい。
読みながら何度も涙がこぼれた。 破裂してしまうほど病で脾臓が膨らみ子を遠さげなければならない父、 それでも父が眠っているすきにそっと、父のにおいをかぎ、ほおを近づけてくる幼い娘。 親子の情愛や荒廃した被爆地の様子が、温かくも客観的で冷静な目で描かれている
The above book was introduce by the article in Nikkei shimbun. The story is about the dying author who has two young children. He let them away because his disease was too serious. Nevertheless, the children tried to be close to him when he was sleeping. It was very sad story. I want to read the whole story in this book.
